Profile & CV Import

Build your profile once — it powers every application

Career history, roles, facts: your profile is JACVault’s data foundation. You fill it in minutes — by CV import, from LinkedIn or by hand — and every application draws on it.

The import

Three ways into your profile

You decide how your profile is created. All three ways end in the same editor — and all of them are free.

Way 01

Upload your CV

PDF, Word, OpenDocument — also .rtf and .pages. The AI reads your document in full: your career path role by role with responsibilities and dates, plus education, skills, languages and certificates. Nothing is lost, nothing is invented — afterwards it all sits in the editor, ready to review and refine.

Way 02

From LinkedIn

Your LinkedIn profile is a CV too: export it from LinkedIn as a PDF and upload it — JACVault reads it like any other CV. And our Chrome extension guides you through it, straight from your browser.

Way 03

By hand

Create an empty profile and fill it in the editor, section by section. Or duplicate an existing profile and adapt it for your next target role. Imported profiles stay fully editable too: the import is the starting point, not the result.

Importing is free — no matter how often you import or update

The data foundation

What your profile holds

Eleven sections, plus your application photo: identity, career, education, vocational training, certificates, skills, languages, publications, volunteering, hobbies, driving licenses. Every section has its own editor — you maintain, add and drag to reorder your entries. Every profile has a profile language, German or English — your applications are independent of it: an English profile can become a German application on request, and vice versa. And for different target roles you create separate profiles: one for project management, one for consulting. One profile is your default; per application you choose which one counts.

The principle

Only what’s actually in your profile counts

JACVault claims nothing that isn’t in your profile. That’s not a statement of intent, it’s built in: quality gates check every generated application against your profile data — no invented skills, no invented numbers, no empty phrases. That’s why a well-kept profile pays off: the more precise your facts, the stronger every application.

Beyond the facts, JACVault can optionally learn your voice — a few short questions about your writing style, so every application sounds like you rather than like AI.

FAQ

Common questions about the import

What you want to know about your profile and CV import before you start.

Which file formats can the CV import read?

PDF, Word (.docx, .doc), OpenDocument (.odt), .rtf and .pages. The import reads multi-column layouts cleanly too — everything lands in the section it belongs to.

Is the import really free?

Yes. CV import and LinkedIn import are free — you can build and update your profile as often as you like.

Do I still need to review the imported profile?

Yes — and that’s by design. The import is the starting point: you see every section in the editor, check the facts and refine. Because every application builds only on what’s in your profile.

What comes after the profile?

Choosing your layout — and, if you like, customizing it in the CV Studio. You set up profile and layout once; after that every application takes about ten minutes.
